Happy 4th of July!
With the many celebrations and thoughts of our very precious freedoms here in the United States of America, we are enjoying some fun fireworks, (that is, if your town hasn’t cancelled due to the heat and dryness we have been experiencing), good food, good times with friends and family, and time off from work (for some folks).
Let’s say some extra words of Thanks for what we do have here in the awesome country. If you have visited other places around the world, you know when you come back home, how good we really do have it; let us never take that for granted;
Along with that, as a Christian, Bible believing (actively reading and learning the Bible on a daily – YES… on a daily basis do I read the Word of God!), we have MIGHTY freedoms, that reach far beyond our freedom that we carry here in our own country. Here are some wonderful verses that we have, promises from Him, our Giver of Life. What a great gift this is. Take a moment to read each one, maybe even write them out and keep them handy, memorize them so they are etched into your mind for always!
We are set free. Take note. If you have not already, make this July 4, 2012, your day of freedom in Christ. Accept Him as your Savior. Repenting from your past sins. Start afresh. Freedom, True Freedom awaits you …. today… receive it! (drop me a line at donna.dbpbd@gmail.com, if you have done so today! If you rededicate your life, I would love to hear from you too-
let us pray together and rejoice in His awesome gift of freedom!)
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36
“Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?” Acts 15:10
“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15
“We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us.” 2 Corinthians 1:10
“In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and He answered by setting me free.” Psalm 118:5
“Since the children [are human], He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy Him who holds the power of death– that is, the devil — and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.” Hebrews 2:14-15
