Just as the season of summer is coming to an end (yes, I know, officially,
by someone’s suggestion, Labor Day is suppose to be the “end” of the summer;
but we still have warm weather, and it LOOKS like summer out there, yet I am looking forward to cool weather ~ yeah!).Autumn brings a time of reflection.
We close the door to Summer of 2012, and now start welcoming in the Autumn.
Pumpkins, good smells, freshness in the air, candles burning, baking, ooh, it is a lovely time of year.
It’s tough sometimes to have closure, knowing there is no turning back – we must move
forward – we are reminded of the happiness, regrets, sweet sorrows, joy for the goodness of God as we move into another season of life.
God’s been doing some pretty amazing things in my life. Stretching – ooh sometimes that comes with great difficulty! Growth spurts – well sometimes they hurt. But they are good. Resolving things so as to have a healthy new start is so important.
One thing I have learned is it’s O.K. to say NO to people and things. With no regret or need to offer explanation.
I know I am not alone, I have had some dear friends who have gone through some struggles recently, and it’s pretty tough. But the reasurrance, of KNOWING GOD is my / our mighty fortress. He is my/our deliverer when we choose to follow Christ, and let Him be our guide!
Psalm 91 is one of my favorite Psalms, it brings me such peace and assurance – I am once again reminded of Who I am in Christ! Oh, how I love Him so! He brings me joy – peace – love that is unconditional – in whom shall I trust? Only in Christ!
Psalm 91
1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
my God, in whom I trust.”
3Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the Lord, who is my refuge—
10then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
