GOAL SETTING
This is very defining for me, studying about setting goals; As I was never trained or taught to set goals; it’s only been in the last 12-18 months that I have listened to various lessons on setting goals for my future.
The process seems slow, but defining, as I want the last half of my life to be purposeful in Him as well as live life in God’s ways to guide my life (and letting go of control); I want to be a fresh and healthy vessel being guided by the Father as what to do.
It is a challenge. Yet, being totally aware that the devil hates when we get Kingdom purposed with our life. But God. He knows, He is the Director of life.
This is what I’ve gleaned so far as I am defining goals for 2014:
v Pray
v Plan
v Prepare
o Being sensitive to the HS confirmation OR changes in direction, holding loosely to my plans, and seeking God’s design.
o Using my heart AND mind to LIVE the goals out- a step at a time.
o Don’t use objections in pride;
o Let go of anxiety; He cares for me and gives me peace
o I must let go of control (ouch ouch ouch ewawah!) in all areas of my life
o Live life with a solid mind, but live it out in humility
§ I am not in control of my destiny, God is and as I rely on Him to show me the way, he also paves the path and send my every need along the way as I take the steps to accomplish his will… I am a living, walking, testimonial vessel to God’s amazing goodness!
With this lesson, it is confirming what the Lord has been showing me in the past 12-18 months. It’s been a slow process for me to define, but sensing a richer focus on what the future holds! And, I am excited to see how the goals unfold, one step at a time!
I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. (Psalm 119:15 ESV)
Proverbs 29:18 (a), “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained….” (NASB).
