So, today I write to ask you, do you love Jesus? Really love Him?
Is He the Center of your life? Every day? Or just when you are in a crisis? Or, maybe, he’s the center of it, if life is going well?
Have you ever ignored Jesus as he waited in the bleachers, to sit in the sidelines as you took the reigns in your life, without seeking Him first?
Which somehow then led, in the game of life, loosing track of where He is, and life got messy. (Much like in a game of football, as a player may look over to locate their family member in the bleachers, but everyone blends in like a tootsie pop – he/she is there rooting you on, but WHERE are they? You need that security, but all the “Tootsies” seem to look alike, but the game rushes on – like life does – and you loose focus of your biggest coach and cheerleader). Then life got amok.
Life, guaranteed, at some point, brings pain, sorrow, difficulties, the seemingly endless struggles, and issues, problems that now and again seem overwhelming. Those seasons that appears to have no end, a dry and barren place. But in the poverty (lack, inability, inhibitions) is the opportunity for God’s generosity to shine through. Oh he knows each fallen piece of our lives. He meets us, his only condition, is to love him, praise him, and meet with him with a pure heart – not sometimes, but daily! Go to him with empty hands – lift your hands up, as you raise your heart to His. Release the worry; break the cycle of trying and doing.
Focus on Him – omitting all the distractions that pull for your attention – for just a short period of time, it will lead you to the living waters that will refresh your spirit. He is the River of Life. Pour into Him. Praise him, even when you don’t want to. Lift up His name in adoration, for he cares for you! Never, ever give up hope. Let his Light Shine over and in your soul. His compassion fails not. Opening your heart to His wonderful gift, He awaits to heal you, and answer your every need. God takes the trauma of life and reverses it, forgetting it to bring you newness and a refreshing fullness that only He can do.
Will you let Jesus on the field with you, to be the guiding defense AND offensive player in this game called life?
Praying to the Father:
Father thank you so much for your grace, love and patience with me. I come before you with a humbled heart, releasing every pain, hurt, injustice, along with doubts, fears and confusion (which I know are from the enemy) and lay them down at your feet. You are my Defender, my Coach, my Righteous One, who takes well care of all the details of my life. I find rest in you…. And not in the things or people in my life. You are my Joy, my Song, my Heart, I love you so much Jesus, and want you to go before me in every circumstance, I trust you wholly to take care of everything, because you promised you already did it at Calvary. I rejoice, as I sing and dance with freedom that comes from you. Give me rest and wisdom for each day, as I thank you for my complete life, which is just perfect as I lean into you to direct my path.
Here’s a great song, by the amazing Israel Houghton, take 6 minutes, meditate on His love for you.. call out to him and let him take over every part of you!
Scriptures:
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 KJV2000
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7 NLT
But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 1 Peter 1:3 NLT
Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the Father who is compassionate and the God who gives comfort. 1 Corinthians 1:13 GWT
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 1 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV
