Amazing Love

Amazing love how can it be
That you my king would die for  me

It is amazing – how MUCH he loves us!

I was talking with a friend tonight, and we were in agreement that God’s kingdom must always be first in our lives. If you call yourself a “Christ’ian, you must put Christ first in all that you do. His love is SOOO incredibly amazing; so amazing that it is really beyond what words can express!
The other day I woke up to a cloudy, quiet stormy morning. There is something about the thick heavy clouds that brought on total relaxation. But the really cool part was the soft rolling thunder. It just kept ever peacefully roaring, over and over again. It was incredibly soothing and I just didn’t want it to stop.

As I enjoyed those few moments, I realized how calm and tranquil I had become, nothing could have bothered me in that moment – my thoughts went to the Lord and how he so desires for me to be in that state of mind — always. I have access to that peacefulness. I need to be in His presence, so that he can sooth my aching mind and take the stress off of my daily life. This is something I need to do daily – renewing my mind to what he for me. Releasing the problems so that I can move freely – at all times!

In Him we gain clarity. Contentment becomes us. Peace and understanding become a key part of our mind and soul!
Taking time to soak in His presence, reading the Word, praying and being still enough to listen to his still small voice, will bring all of the above attributes into our life.
My truest desire is to be in that place of not letting anything take over my mind or body because I am so relaxed in who my Jesus is, that he will take care of all things, all of the time. That is the truest place of contentment and peace.
Won’t you join me?

Childlike Faith —

When a child lies down for bedtime, they wake up, and what is the first thing we do as a parent? Change them, (maybe after a kiss or hug)! Babies don’t know how to change themselves. They may cry. They may not, but they know that it will get done by way of the parent putting on a fresh diaper. It is trust that they don’t get a rash or sit in their mess for long.

We all need to be changed. God is our Father. He longs to change us into the people we are made to be. Unique as we each are… our common denominator is that we need to change, to conform into HIS image and lifestyle. He longs for us to talk to him, not in baby gruntings, but in a relational vocabulary.

Hello Daddy.. How are you this morning? Do you know what just happened to me? Do you know how it makes me feel? (Proceed to talk to your daddy, he listens well. Then wait for his response. He has every answer, He meets every need. Wait on Him.

I know that I need to trust him more, just as a child trusts a parent; I trusted that someone would always change my diaper until I learned how to not need a diaper any longer, yet each step of life offers a new learning experience that has to be conquered, most often with the help, guidance and teaching of someone else.

Let God guide you today and always, and allow Him to bring people into your life that challenge you to do better. In return, be willing to help someone else who needs your expertise in some area! Then, life becomes a full circle moment.

A babies lesson on living in Faith everyday!

— Power —

This gorgeous creature posed long enough so I could FINALLY get a good shot of him. I have tried taking photos of him for months, not sure if it’s  the red that makes it so difficult, or my being so excited I just couldn’t get it right!  He doesn’t sit very long..  but this one..                       I think I am very happy with this shot !  Good job posing Mr Cardinal! – Once again,  enjoying the beauty of HIS creation. Amazing!
Onto today’s blog: Tests and Trials. They are tough. Walking on water? Well, that is a true test of our faith isn’t it. Matthew 14: 22-36  tells us of how the disciples were in a boat – far from the land, and the winds were hitting high and hard.
Have you seen a large body of water in a fierce storm? It’s pretty scary stuff! It certainly  is not a place I would choose to be at — ever!  But life brings us all kinds of tribulation. Rocky roads that we’d rather not walk on, but inevitable in this life, no matter who you believe in or what you believe in there will be some struggles along the way.
Sometimes the waters that try to take us out like a whip roaring high winded tide. Other times it is a road so rocky it seems like we cannot walk around it, through it or over it. What do you do about it? Worry? Contemplate? Cry or get angry? I know I am guilty of all those ways of “dealing with the struggle” too. But Jesus came to help us through all of it. No matter how big or small the wind, wave, rain or thunder is, we must focus on Him. He will guide us and show us the perfect solution. The more we focus on His direction, the less complicated the struggle. When Peter had his focus on Jesus, he walked on the water. The second he looked at the waves and water, realizing how he could sink – yep, he fell. But he was humble enough to say Jesus  – HELP!!!!!!!!!! And Jesus lifted him from that fall.  What was Jesus response to Peter’s lack of believing? Jesus said, your faith is small – WHY did you doubt? (my emphasis) Oh boy – how many times have I been there? Ooh, too many times. Why have I not learned? I guess it is a process. Many factors fall into place, as with all of us. We each have a set of unique circumstances which lead to our mindset of faith, doubt and trust. We never “arrive” and become perfect. It is a walk. Each experience  – good or bad, will teach us if we let it. If we communicate in the stillness of His love, and listen, he will give guidance and assurance. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine and he can be yours too.. call out to Him. Read the Bible, he will guide and help you every day.
                                                    **************
God chose to use stories  like this, true  stories, as to help us along life’s journey. We were never promised a rosy – peachy keen kinda lifestyle, just because we follow Jesus. No. We are told there WILL be tests and trials along the way. That is where faith comes in — (I think my next blog will be on Faith — more  on that – so stay tuned!); are we going to be like Peter – he walked on that water – but only for a moment. While his focus was on Jesus – he walked on the water – do we get that? Water. You float, you swim.. but not walk on top of it, unless of course it is ice. This was not a cold day in the middle of winter.  It was in the midst of a storm! Water rising up and over with  powerful winds. He walked. He trusted Jesus in that very moment. Jesus wants us all to live in that kind of moment every single second of every single day. Will you trust Him? I pray you do.
Matthew 17:20 NKJV

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me(Jesus). Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I (Jesus) have overcome the world.”

July

Well, I have not gotten very disciplined in blogging regularly. Could be because life has issued some situations that sidetracked me over the past few months which kept me much to busy running and maintaining up til now.

I’ve always loved summertime! July is my favorite month for lots of reasons! No school. Sunny skies and my birthday!

So, it’s July. Cool week of dates : 7-7-11  and  7-11-11  ~~~ And a  monumental date for me 7-17, since I turn 50! How COULD this be? When???!!!I surely do not feel “this” old. I joked that AARP is calling my name. But really, give me those discounts! Bring it on! Especially these days.
Many friends in my age range have difficulties with the big 5-0. But I say, why go back? Unless you could change things (but really, we’d all just make different mistakes – right?!?), and give me my 20 year old body.. nah, let me be this age. I have gained much over these 50 years, (including some pounds that I hope to shed soon!), wisdom is a grand thing. It really is. Isaiah 46:4 says that even in my old age, He sustains me. He made me, and will carry me and rescue me.    I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that when we are young we want to be carried or rescued. We are strong and invincible. Proverbs 20:29 says “the glory of young men is their strength”.  We want to prove ourselves. Some of that is pride, but some of it is just maturing. Maturing doesn’t mean ya have one foot in the grave, it just means we have wisdom and understanding.(Job 12:12)
So, I welcome this summer. Putting what is behind me – and stretching forward towards the goal. What goal? Well, I have some earthly goals to conquer, but the main goal, is striving to be what God has destined me to be. I am learning to listen to His quiet voice. Intent to heed his direction. Trusting His ways are my ways  – and that is a big lesson learned after all these years. (sometimes it just takes me longer!!).
I just know the best is yet to come. I stand firmly in His promises, and know He has good things in store for my future! I anticipate wonderful things, in Jesus precious name!
It’s just a number. Appreciate it. Life could be worse – and we strive for better, at least I hope we do. Improvement is always needed, stagnancy is a waste.  So, here’s to another celebration day of birth.
Psalm 31:14-15 But I trust in you, O Lord; I say You are my God” My times are in your hands.

Isaiah 58:11 the Lord will guide me always; he satisfies me needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen my frame.  I will be like a well – watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

(keep checking into www.dbpbd.com – finally got some items up for sale on the website. Working on marketing and publishing now! Good things are ahead! Whoot whooot!!!)

Live life – on earth as it is in Heaven!

It’s a very interesting place to be when you can look back and see all the things the Lord has done.

Since we daily celebrate Easter and His being ALIVE, I am looking at Him so differently…all that he went thru, the pain He endured, for my life, your life …. for everyone!

Do we really get the fact that in his pain, that he endured, and then he died, BUT, he rose again. Nothing could keep him in the grave!!! That power lives in me. It lives in YOU too!!!! Sickness cannot hold us down , lack of funds cannot hold us down…NOTHING stands in our way. We can freely move forward and accept what is ours in His Name – His blood… Freely move forward not looking at the grave behind but at the life ahead!!

Isaiah 43:18 forget the former things don’t be dwelling on the past… See —he is doing a new thing!
I’m so grateful for His mercy… as i walk out this life, sometimes the road is easy and sometimes it’s hard, but God. He walks with me as He does also with you.
His mercy and love — they last a lifetime. I will trust him… his path is awesome….. Good things are coming … as we only believe in what He has done for us!

Always!! Love you Jesus!

At the Cross

If you check yesterdays’ blog, (I couldn’t figure out how to post other than adding the video, I am slowly entering this blogging life), so I will comment here, now that I think I have the posting down pat!

This song is most definitely one of my favorite worship songs.
If you stop to really think about the Cross and what Jesus went through to pay the price for our salvation… well, it’s just bigger than my brain can wrap around.
Thank God for mercy!
Here is my very minute paraphrase:

You search me Lord,
you know my ways, everything about me,
Even when I fail You Lord, I KNOW you love me….
Therefore, when I come to the cross, I bow my knees
In humble adoration to You and You alone

There is no greater love than Jesus

Lord you go before me

and you shield my ways, so no harm can come against me…
You uphold me with your hand….
I am safe in you…
At the cross I will bow my knees where your blood was shed for me… there’s no greater love than this….
